Tip #1 Try to work when you are in a productive mood so you can have fun while marketing.
Tip #2 Also try to work at the time you are most productive. Some people feel productive at certain times of the day.
Tip #3 Have a special room where you do your work. It could be your home office, or your couch, but have a special place where pen, paper, and office supplies are at easy reach, and a place you feel good working in.

Tip #5 Don't rush into things. I have rushed into things and bought products/services I didnt need, and wasted money. Think first before you act. Its obvious sense, but sometimes everyone forgets this. I forget it a lot and try to remind myself of incidences in the past.
Tip #6 Try to have all the software tools on your computer so you don't have to run all over the place to do a simple task. Try to have at least Microsoft Office 2000, 2003 or 2007(I have 2000 for FrontPage and 2007 for the actual MS Office), A good website editor like either FrontPage or DreamWeaver, and try to have an up to date Web Browser. I recommend either IE or FireFox. Also, I like to have all 3 main web toolbars (Google, Yahoo and Windows Live) so I have access to the best of all the huge portals.
Tip #7 Keep organized and clean. Simple tasks like cleaning up our workspace are often put off till later, but once you start you will feel that it isnt that bad. Its not too hard to tidy up every day and actually clean it like, on Friday. I used to be into a habit of doing this, but for some reason I stopped. Im getting back into it though...
Tip #8 Don't get discouraged. Just because your not making money online now doesn't mean you wont. You should see things turn around once you take action, create Plan A and Plan B, and learn the building blocks of IM.
Tip #9 Its nice to blog if you like writing. If you like to write just start a hobby blog. Even if you dont like to write, blogging could build a name for yourself.
